A Joint Effort of Punjab Education Foundation and Plan International to Protect Children from Voilence and Abuse

Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Plan International on 11th of May 2010 at Lahore for a joint project “To protect children from violence and abuse by ending corporal punishment in partner schools of Punjab Education Foundation in Punjab”.

The overall objective of project is to contribute to the protection of children from violence and abuse by ending corporal punishment in schools in the Province of Punjab as a basic right of children. The specific objective is to increase promotion and protection of child rights in schools financially assisted by PEF in Punjab.
Through this project master trainers for PEF will be trained to promote the concept of “Learn Without Fear”. Training modules will also be developed with special emphasis on child rights and corporal punishment for the teachers training programs of PEF.
Children Complaint and Redressel Cell has been established in head office and regional offices to receive and redress the complaints. Focal person at head office is Ms Uzma Saeed-Law Officer and Coordinators at regional offices in Rawalpindi and Multan have also been nominated to address the complaints.
