What is your mission statement?
Communication Department is committed to promote and broaden public understanding about PEF policies, aimed at promoting quality education among the marginalized segments of the society through public private Partnership; and also acts as a spokesperson and collects feedback from the public and stakeholders besides media management.
What are the main responsibilities of Communication Department?
- Planning, coordination and evaluation of news media relations for PEF office;
- Identification of issues, events and programs requiring media attention;
- Prioritization of communications and public relations needs;
- Ensuring policies identified by Government of the Punjab’s strategic plan are reflected in communications strategies as appropriate;
- Ensuring appropriate and timely response to media queries;
- Development and composition of press releases, fact sheets, material for newsletters and other public relations documents;
- Devise and execute advertisement and innovative promotional activities for each programme;
- Analyzing goals and implementation of programs and activities to enhance long and short term communication programs;
- Providing consultation to other staff on all aspects of communications and public relations;
- Training, supervision and evaluation of assigned personnel;
- Arrangements for media site visits and assisting press in developing news and stories;
Does the Communication Department bring out any publication and can the students participate as well?
Yes. PEF-Communication Department publishes official newsletter on quarterly basis and we encourage all stakeholders to send their material for it. We also welcome institutions/students to conduct research studies of our projects.
I have recently completed my Masters from local institution; can I join your department as an internee?
Yes. PEF- Communication Department provides a chance to the masters or equivalent student of mass communication, social sciences, research, statistics and marketing etc. for paid internship, portfolio building and free lancing.
How do you keep apprise to the journalists community of other cities especially in Southern and Northern areas of the province?
In this age of global communication we are applying every tool to reach to the regional/local media through internet based communication for keeping them informed about PEF initiatives. Our regional offices in Multan and Rawalpindi are also there to facilitate the local media community.
