Continuous Teachers Development Program (CTDP)

AIM

“To empower the teachers of low cost private sector schools through training with particular emphasis on classroom management, teaching techniques, child psychology and pedagogical skills.”

OBJECTIVE

• Create a richer learning environment
• To introduce newer educational methods and offer teachers in these schools a chance to share the most innovative ideas and concepts being explored today. To make their teaching/training methodology more effective
• To provide more shareable resources for the cluster schools in outlying areas where the schools heads and teachers should meet together to share ideas, training and resources since it is understandable that these activities cannot be provided easily in their own schools. Overcoming isolation and making training accessible to more teachers at one focal point is advantageous. The value of working together and sharing the feedback builds support network

It is expected that as a result of CBT the:

• Teachers will feel more confident in using materials and as a result their teaching/ training methodology would improve, making lessons and learning more effective.
• Teachers will develop pedagogical skills through participation in the program in school.
• Indirect beneficiaries would be peers and families of those who have participated in the program.

POLICY

Cluster Based Trainings (CBTs) are imparted through various organizations in Public Private Partnership (PPP).

According to PEF, "Cluster" may be termed as "selection of a venue for conducting training, and inviting the 30-35 teachers of private schools falling in close proximity (walking/transportable distance).

• Cluster comprises 30-35 teachers
• Six days ( 5 hours per day training program)
• Each trainee will go through following three levels of training and will  become a certified teacher after going through all levels:-
  Level 1:  Foundation
  Level 2:  Subject-Based (Initial)
  Level 3:  Subject-Based (Advance)
• PEF Course Completion Certificates awarded to the participant teachers upon successful completion of the training

HOW TO BECOME PARTNER IN CBT

• Private organizations are invited to submit Expression of Interests (EoIs) through advertisement for conduction of Cluster Based Trainings through Public Private Partnership
• EoIs are shortlisted by Professional Development Certification Body (PDCB) constituted by Board of Directors (BoDs) of PEF
• Shortlisted organizations do presentation in front of PDCB for selection
  
• Selected organizations conduct pilot workshops and based upon the findings,

PDCB recommends the organizations for partnership for conduction of “Cluster Based Trainings” under Continuous Professional Development Program (CPDP)

TRAINING EXECUTION PROCEDURE

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is signed with the organizations recommended by PDCB and equal number of trainings are allocated for the “Evaluation Phase.” Further allocation of trainings and continuation of partnership depends upon the organization’s performance during evaluation phase.

Level 1
(Foundation)

• Day 1:

Awareness regarding Teaching profession, Teaching Ethics, Motivation of Teachers, Teacher as a Role Model

• Day 2:

Teacher Language, Inter-personal/faith harmony, Corporal Punishment, Health & Hygiene

• Day 3:

          Classroom Management, Teaching Techniques & Methodology (Part-I), Teaching & Learning Styles

• Day 4:

Lesson Planning, Teaching Techniques Methodology (Part-II)

• Day 5:

Assessment & Evaluation, Activity-Based Teaching, Audio Visual Teaching Aids

• Day 6:

Child Psychology, Slow Learner, Learning Disability.
        Group Discussion & Presentation is mandatory

( Subject-Based Initail)

     CTDP: Mathematics:

• Day 1 Basic operations (advance stage), Measurements 1
• Day 2: Measurement 2, Information handling

     CTDP: Science:

• Day 1: Different physical states of water, Organization of a plant body (Advance), Our Body
• Day 2: Sound, Light and Heat

 CTDP: English

• Day 1: Description/Narration, Creative Writing, Parts of Speech (Part 1)
• Day 2: Parts of Speech (Part 2) and

Level 3
(Subject-Based Advance)

     CTDP: Mathematics:

• Day 1:  Basic operations (advance stage), Measurements 1

     CTDP: Science:
